How Should
Reference Checks Be Conducted in Human Resource Management?
Pre-employment reference checks are an important part of
selecting the right candidates for a company. In this video, HR expert Junki
Han explains the importance of reference checks and provides practical guidance
on how to conduct them effectively.
As a general rule, reference checks should be conducted
during the final stage of the recruitment process, before an employment
contract is signed. If an employer cancels a hiring decision or terminates an
employment relationship based on the results of a reference check conducted
after the employment contract has been signed, there is a significant risk of a
dispute involving unfair dismissal.
This video examines the role of reference checks in the
recruitment process, the appropriate timing and methods for conducting them,
and the key legal issues that HR professionals should consider when making
hiring decisions.
